Moguls Celebrate Carnegie’s 120th, Weinstein Shells out “Robin Hood” Cash… and more

Welcome to Scene and Heard, Mogulite’s regular column tracking the moguls who play as hard as they work. From charities to parties and from St. Barths to Davos, we leave no stone unturned. Eat your heart out, Robin Leach.

– Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld was joined by ex-Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld (his mom), hotelier Vikram Chatwal and art scion Simon de Pury at a dinner to fete his gallery opening for artist Nicolas Pol. Meanwhile, one of Edgar Brofman Jr.’s many heirs, Hannah, joined the Euro jet-set crowad at Aby Rosen’s Manhattan Gramercy Park Hotel. [Mogulite]

– Kanye West doesn’t perform at MoMA’s Party in the Garden until later today — but that didn’t stop Cartier from kicking off the event a few days early with a preview dinner at the Cartier Mansion in Manhattan last week. Evelyn Lauder and Leonard Lauder dined with fashion financier Julie Macklowe and health care titan Ted Skokos. [BFA]

– We think Carnegie Hall doesn’t look a day over 119, but the New York institution turned just turned 120 with a gala to celebrate. Oscar De La Renta, violinist Yo-Yo Ma, oilman Sid Bass and his philanthropic powerhouse wife Mercedes were all on hand to blow out the candles. [PMc]

– Men in tights were on display at the superhero-themed Robin Hood gala last night, where super moguls gave big. We hear Harvey Weinstein, Martha Stewart and Steve Rattner took from their own riches to help the poor. And Lady Gaga even busted up the mogul scene to drop off a massive check. [Bloomberg]
