LIVESTREAM: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg Talks About Women In Tech

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg has become one of the most outspoken voices on women in tech and women in power. She’s speaking right now (Noon ET) on the topic, at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing.

For the unfamiliar, Hopper was a famed female computer scientist and something of a pioneer for women in the field of computing.

Earlier this week, Sandberg said that women need to be “more ambitious” if they expect to be in more positions of power.

We’re very interested to see what Sandberg has to say today. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to see some of the comments on the Facebook page promoting the event. One young man wrote, “make me a sammich. NOW!!!” on the event’s Wall, while another wrote, “I’m only attending because I heard this was a great place to pick up chicks.” To see these comments is a disappointment for sure (but also some weak and unoriginal comments we’ve heard a million times before), but we’re confident Sandberg’s address will make these bigots look like fools.
