“Silicon Valley Ryan Gosling” May Solve The Recruiting Women Into Tech Problem
7:25 pm, December 22nd | by Hillary Reinsberg
If you’ve been scouring the Internet for the past few weeks, you’ve likely come across the “Hey Girl” Ryan Gosling meme. It now takes on new meaning with the “Silicon Valley Ryan Gosling” interpretation.
The meme is a pretty simple formula: it involves a photo of the irresistible Gosling, paired with some text beginning with “Hey Girl” and followed by some suggestion, usually somewhat artsy or intellectual.
In Silicon Valley Ryan Gosling, the object of Gosling’s fictional affection works in startups in Silicon Valley.
For example: “Hey girl. I’m sorry Sean Parker didn’t reply to your really nice email asking him to join your advisory board. Let’s make some hot cocoa and browse AngelList.”
Or: “Hey girl. I definitely think we should stay home tonight and optimize your new website for mobile. I’ll pick up some takeout.”
