Jobs Takes a Medical Leave-Leave to Announce New Mac Products

Looks like even medical leave won’t keep Steve Jobs away from product launches. The Apple guru will be in the house to roll out a handful of new Mac products at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 6, according to Computerworld. A new operating system and a cloud service called… iCloud (really) are slated for the new lineup. Makes sense that Jobs would want to stick around for all this considering how underwhelming MobileMe has been.

We can’t help but wonder whether these product premieres were on the agenda when Jobs dropped by Apple HQ a few weeks ago.

Jobs return to the tech social circuit comes on the heels of dismal news for rival Nokia — well, if it can even be called a rival anymore.

The once-popular mobile phone provider has seen its stock fall by three quarters what its original value was, back when the iPhone was introduced in 2007, according to Businessweek. Perhaps this explains why Nokia introduced that tell-us-what-you-want-and-we’ll-do-it contest they announced a couple weeks ago. The competition, which asked customers to submit ideas for new Nokia inventions, was the ultimate bottom-line chopper.

IPhone, the Destroyer. Looks like Jobs has lots to celebrate these days.
