Study Claims Wearing Red Tells Guys You’re More Likely To Put Out

Ladies, be careful how you dress on your next date (if your date’s a dude). The color of your outfit could give the impression that you’re open to getting down and dirty right away. Which, hey, no judgments. Just a head’s up.
A new study by University of Rochester researchers finds that males perceive women in red colored clothes as likely to respond well to sexual advances. A woman in red, the study says, gives men the impression that they are less likely to be rejected by her. Speaking to one of the researchers, Adam Pazda, the Daily Mail reports:
Mr. Pazda said the idea that women wear red clothing more when they are interested in sexual encounters appeared to be on target, and “preliminary evidence suggests that this is indeed happening.”
Pazda tied this back to evolution, as baboons develop red splotches on their skin when ready to mate. Of course, plenty of women sport red attire without realizing that they’re going off on slut radars, so Pazda recommends they be “judicious” about their clothing choices so as not to send the wrong message into the world: “From a pragmatic standpoint, our results suggest that women may need to be judicious in their use of red clothing.”
Women get enough backlash for opting for something other than the Hillary Clinton pantsuit look, and now we come across as easy harlots for donning RED?! Here is a little secret for the men who assume red means bed: Maybe your date just wants to wear a lively color. That’s what many people do to get through depressing winter days.
