15 Women We Want To See Moderate The Presidential Debates
11:45 am, August 2nd | by Laura Simmons
It’s almost that time again — election time. And that can only mean one thing: Presidential debates are coming our way. And here’s why you should be concerned: There’s only ever been one female presidential debate moderator. Twenty years ago, in 1992, Carole Simpson from ABC news moderated the George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton debate. And since then there has been no female presence on the debate panel.

In the wake of Ann Curry’s departure, the Today show continues to fall in the ratings behind Good Morning America. But while one could attribute this decline in viewers to several factors, some members of the media continue to blame women involved in the show.

Props To Ann Curry For Fleeing To California After Painful Final Broadcast
2:30 pm, July 1st | by Laura Donovan
Sometimes the best thing to do upon getting emotionally bulldozed is travel as far away as possible. That appears to be the solution of choice for former Today anchor Ann Curry, who delivered a heart-wrenching farewell message on Thursday and made me want to give her the longest hug in history. Immediately after saying goodbye on live television, she reportedly booked it for the airport for a friend’s wedding in the Golden State.
5 Projects We’d Love To See Ann Curry Tackle Next

I’m still in mourning over Ann Curry’s tragic Today show departure, but ready to embrace my inner optimist and see this ending as a new beginning. After all, there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel for this fighter of a lady: she’s not leaving the network as a whole and has a new role as NBC News National & International Correspondent and Today anchor at large. NBC News president Steve Capus says Curry will be reporting on a host of different programs and topics, so here are a couple of assignments and projects I’d love her to have.

Daily Mail Publishes Tasteless Headline About Guthrie Taking Over For ‘Old’ Ann Curry
11:30 am, June 29th | by Laura Donovan
It was mighty painful to watch former “Today” host Ann Curry deliver her tear-inducing goodbye message yesterday — especially alongside smug ice king Matt Lauer, who lacked the decency to give her a televised hug or demonstrate sincere compassion — but even worse to see the Daily Mail’s response to the anchor’s abrupt ousting. The day following Curry’s final broadcast, the U.K. publication posted a story with the headline, “Out with the old: Savannah Guthrie takes over Ann Curry’s co-host chair on the Today show… just a DAY after her tearful farewell.”

Katie, Sarah, Robin, And Ann: The Rise Of The Female Morning Anchor
5:30 pm, April 2nd | by Laura Donovan
Many are dying to know how former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will fare in her “Today” guest spot tomorrow morning against ABC News correspondent Katie Couric, in terms of ratings. But we’re more eager to see women dominate the a.m. television shows. That, rather than the unnecessary attempt to revisit their infamous awkward interview and continuously pit them against each other, should be celebrated.
