BIC Tells The Jane Dough The Company Welcomes Criticism, Comments On ‘For Her’ Pen Set

BIC For Her

A lot of people are unhappy with BIC’s “For Her” pen set, which is getting many scathing reviews on Amazon. I am not offended by the product but was surprised that gender-specific writing utensils are a thing again. I haven’t associated pens with femininity since middle school, when I lamented that I wasn’t allowed to use sparkly pink Gelly Rolls on homework assignments (by the way, former teachers, that rule was total BS. At least I wrote by hand, unlike rotten kids of today!).

Now that the War on Gelly Rolls is over, it’s time to acknowledge the latest pen outrage. The BIC creations have generated more controversy than necessary (these are pens we’re talking about, for crying out loud…), but BIC’s director of corporate communications, Linda K. Kwong told The Jane Dough that the company welcomes criticism and backlash about any of its offerings.
