Who Won? Who Lost? A Weekly Review
4:00 pm, June 25th | by Amy Tennery
This week’s winner? Andrew Liveris.
It was a close call this week, but this Dow Chemical CEO won out. Just months after releasing his pro-manufacturing book, “Make it in America”, President Obama appointed him co-chair of his new Advanced Manufacturing Partnership. Talk about having your business agenda validated. While it’s unclear how much power Liveris will actually wield in this post, it’s a huge boost to his credibility.

This morning’s much-anticipated Yahoo! shareholder meeting was filled with cranky, whiny shareholders who want Carol Bartz out. Should she be knocked to the curb as CEO? Eh, maybe, maybe not. There were certainly enough pre-conference rumors to suggest it’s a sure thing. But the Yahoo! board of directors decided to stand behind Bartz, these shareholders certainly didn’t – they want her replaced ASAP. We’ve rounded up some of the meanest, angriest comments that have been made about the CEO…

If Carol Bartz Is Ousted At Yahoo!, Who Will Take Over?
6:25 pm, June 22nd | by Hillary Reinsberg
Sorry Carol Bartz, but we think you’re on the way out. The Yahoo! CEO since 2009 isn’t too popular at the moment and at tomorrow’s shareholder meeting, it won’t be a surprise if big things go down, from board shakeups to discussion about whether Bartz should stay.
The fact that change needs to happen at the lagging company is pretty clear – the question is: Who will fill the roles? Yahoo! Investor (and self-proclaimed insider) Eric Jackson over at Forbes offered up some rumored replacements for Bartz, all of whom seem like interesting, viable candidates to fill the role. As we dug up information on Jackson’s list of contenders, one thing stuck out: Three of them were former or current right hand men to Rupert Murdoch in some capacity at News Corp. What gives? And unlike Bartz, none of the rumored people are women – it looks like a male will be taking the reins, if these rumors are legit.
Without further ado, here’s a look at who might be getting the Yahoo! executive suite.

She’s brash, outspoken — and she’s about to get the boot. Or so some people say of Carol Bartz, the embattled Yahoo CEO who’s been plagued with criticism for her company’s poor performance.
But while we feel sort of bad for Bartz, her rocky tenure has spawned some awesome fake twitter accounts that are worth checking out… After all, this is the woman who famously told Michael Arrington to “F#$! off”. If that’s her real personality, how could her fake personae not be amazing? (Note, some of these tweets are NSFW. Proceed with caution.)

Bartz Might be out at Yahoo — But Does She Really Deserve the Boot?
5:39 pm, May 31st | by Amy Tennery
Poor Carol Bartz. The Yahoo CEO hasn’t been able to shake rumors over the last several days that she’s getting kicked out of her post — and now the buzz seems to be heating up.
Bartz, the sharp-tongued exec, who famously took down Michael Arrington at last year’s Disrupt conference, had been the target of replacement rumors about two weeks ago, before sources ran to her defense — and Forbes — arguing that the Yahoo board is still on her side. Of course, the issue didn’t end there.
