New York Mag Points Out That ‘Carrie Diaries’ Is A Total Sham

Young Carrie Bradshaw

Those who can’t seem to get over the fact that “Sex and the City” ended nearly a decade ago now have a new show to obsess over. “The Carrie Diaries,” which premieres tonight, follows teenage Carrie Bradshaw as she tries to navigate New York City for the first time ever. But as NY mag points out, the new series has many holes and back story inconsistencies.

In Brief

The Only Time You’ll Ever See ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ And ‘Fuzzy Socks’ In The Same Sentence

Young Carrie Bradshaw

You don’t need to be a dedicated “Sex and the City” fan to know that its main character, Carrie Bradshaw is all about fashion, but AnnaSophia Robb, the girl who portrays a younger version of the journalist on “The Carrie Diaries,” may very well prefer comfort over style.

Head Scratchers

New ‘Carrie Diaries’ Trailer Slightly Better Than The First One

Young Carrie Bradshaw

If “Sex and the City” is a franchise you wish would just die already, acquire some patience. The new trailer for SATC prequel, “The Carrie Diaries” has just been released and is not quite as insufferable as the preview that hit the web several months ago and made us want to #headdesk for three hours straight. The first preview, which features a moronic female high schooler telling virginal teenager Carrie Bradshaw that having sex feels like a hotdog going into a keyhole, was so annoying that it was pulled from the Internet. Thank goodness for that, because the new trailer for the January 2013 show isn’t as lame and won’t remind you of the lying idiots you listened to in youth.

Must-See T.V.

No, I’m Not 14 — But I’m Stoked For The Carrie Diaries Show And You Should Be, Too [TRAILER]

Young Carrie Bradshaw

It’s hard to picture “Sex and the City” heroine Carrie Bradshaw as anything other than a stylish, financially comfortable, successful, and well-respected New Yorker. But as anyone who has ever relocated to NYC knows, nobody shows up to the city knowing exactly how to take it on. We get a glimpse of Bradshaw’s life before glamorous Manhattan and sex column writing in the upcoming “Sex and the City” prequel, “The Carries Diaries,” which is based off author Candace Bushnell’s “Carrie Diariesseries.
