If you are the type to make New Year’s resolutions, you probably have at least some experience with the difficulty of sticking to the new rules you make each December 31st. But take heart! You are not alone.

May I present to you, Boxing Day.

It’s nice to have the stressful holiday season mostly out of the way, but you’re not totally off the hook yet. A lot of people jumped through many hoops to give you a nice Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever, so be sure to demonstrate your thanks and send them your praises once you’ve thrown away wrapping paper and taken down your Christmas decorations. Here are five things you must remember to do before fully saying farewell to 2012 and the holiday season.

I don’t know about you, but I was Christmas’d out like two weeks ago, and while I love the holiday season, it’s a relief to be done with the madness for another year. Now that the 25th is out of the way, we have New Years Eve and much more to look forward to. Here’s how to get out of Xmas mode and stay in the present.

For years, I’ve been looking for the perfect holiday accessory that straddles the fine line between “naughty enough to make Santa check his list twice” and “being a flat-out ho, ho, ho.” (Coincidentally, I’ve also been looking for the perfect occasion to use all my sexual yuletide puns.) I think I’ve found this year’s winner in Ta.ta.toos.

Guys. What was even happing on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Between “Maine Justice,” “Dermot Mulroney or Dylan McDermott” and ex-porn stars shilling for “Sabowski Crystals” it was a ridiculous, punchy night from start to finish. Host Jamie Foxx was so aggressively present in all the sketches that it felt like some of the regular players didn’t get much of a chance to shine, and it did little to help the ongoing battle of the ladies that has been waged between Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, Nasim Pedrad and Vanessa Bayer this fall. And then there was Aidy Bryant.

ABC Family is a cable network that knows what its viewers want: beautiful teenagers making bad decisions, endless airings of Sweet Home Alabama, and hours upon hours of Boy Meets World reruns. Whether its black magic or some sort of brain hacking software, the powers that be at ABC Family excel at creating content for the teenagers inside all of us (perhaps they are teenagers themselves)? But if there’s a crown jewel in the
ABCF oeuvre it’s the perfectly curated lineup of original films and old classics that is “ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas.”

Seriously, there’s something for everyone.
