Strauss-Kahn TriBeCa Townhouse: It’s Yours For The $14M Taking

Franklin Street DSK

Given the fact that he’s fled New York and headed back to his Paris palazzo, this probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise: the TriBeCa townhouse Dominique Strauss-Kahn was staying in is back on the market. We’ve been inside — if money is no object and you’re in the market for some downtown NYC digs, it’s a pretty nice pad. Except those glitter paintings in the basement. You might want to replace those.

DSK’s New Enemy is… the Black Panthers?

It seemed like Dominique Strauss-Kahn was off the hook. But one group’s still after him: the New Black Panther Party.

The Village Voice reports that last night about 20 members of the New Black Panther Party were assembled outside the now famous 153 Franklin Street townhouse where DSK did his house arrest (and where we coincidentally threw a party a few weeks before he moved in. Here’s our inside tour of the spot). Leaders of the group, standing on the Tribeca street, apparently shouted, “There is no hiding place, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, for you tonight,” from megaphones. Wow.

VIDEO: Watch DSK Walk Out Of Court With A Smile

Well, the tables have turned. A judge at The New York District Attorney’s office ordered that Dominique Strauss-Kahn be released, after investigations brought up questions about the credibility of the maid who accused DSK. Apparently, she may have been personally involved with money launderers and drug dealers, according to new evidence that investigators for the prosecution uncovered, which has made her a questionable plaintiff.

The former IMF head is now freed from house arrest – so he’s able to roam about as he pleases…well, within the United States. The DA’s office is still holding on to DSK’s passport, so he can’t leave the country. While he’ll presumably be out and about now, there’s no word on whether he’ll hold on to his tony townhouse in Tribeca (where, as you’ll recall, we threw a party). Since he’s stuck in the U.S., he may need somewhere to stay.

As evidenced in the video of DSK walking out of court, the man was all smiles.

DSK’s Swanky New Brooklyn Pad

…Just kidding, unless the U.S. Postal Service knows something we don’t. The New York Times reports that, thanks to a mail mix up, a package meant for the infamous Dominique Strauss-Kahn made its way to 153 Franklin Street — in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Oh dear.

Strauss-Kahn is currently residing in a cushy townhouse at 153 Franklin Street in TriBeCa, Manhattan. The reasons for the switch are unclear (how often does this occur, really?), but the story of what happened to the package post-delivery is pretty entertaining. Apparently the address in Brooklyn is home to a “boutique wine shop,” Dandelion Wine, and it sat for several days before the owner realized who this alleged “Dominique Strauss-Kahn” character was.

DSK Spending House Arrest Trying to Lose a Few Pounds

strauss kahn

There’s a lot one could accomplish while on house arrest, really. With all that free time on your hands, why not pick up a new hobby, catch up on your correspondence or, you know, spend some time thinking about how you ended up there in the first place? The possibilities are limitless!

Former IMF Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn, for instance, has decided to take this time to work on his physique. Well, it would seem that way, at least, given his grocery list, according to the New York Post. The alleged sex criminal had a shipment of skinless chicken breast, Lean Cuisine and Crystal Light dropped off at his $50,000-a-month Tribeca pad — which we were totally inside roughly a week-and-a-half-ago (!!!), by the way. This word comes from one of the many delivery guys who have blabbed to the press about Strauss-Kahn’s goings on over the last week.

Mogulite Editor Dishes on Strauss-Kahn’s New Home on GMA

We could hardly believe it when we found out this week that our launch party pad is now former IMF Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s house arrest abode. What are the odds? Good Morning America had Mogulite Managing Editor Amy Tennery on this morning to talk about the townhouse and what accommodations Strauss-Kahn can expect during his stay.

Exclusive: We Were Inside DSK’s TriBeCa Townhouse Last Week

DSK House

We have been inside the Tribeca townhouse Dominique Strauss-Kahn is currently living in…and we’re going to tell you about it.

When we read that Dominique Strauss-Kahn had been moved from Wall Street to some new digs at 153 Franklin Street, we thought to ourselves, hold up, we’ve totally been there. And, wouldn’t you know it, Mogulite threw its launch party just last week at that very location, a townhouse that’s on the market for around $14 million. Or, in DSK’s case, something like 50 grand a month.

So sure, The Post will tell you that the spot is a “three-story, 6,800-square-foot townhouse — just steps from the Robert De Niro-owned sushi hot spot Nobu” and NBC will have you know, “The four-bedroom, four-and-1/2-bath townhouse sprawls more than 6,800 square feet and boasts a terrace, home theater, gym, fireplace, steam shower, heated limestone floors, a retractable skylight and a waterfall shower. The master suite encompasses the entire third floor and has a wet bar, walk-in closets and a limestone bath, among other amenities.”

All true. But this place was also tailor-made for someone under house arrest. (See more images after the jump)
