Listen. I’m overly optimistic about most things. Given that superhero/actor/Godsend Ryan Gosling has actually saved lives before, I still hold out for the day in which I trip on the sidewalk and he catches my fall with one arm. The other hand, of course, will be holding puppies. I know it’s going to happen sooner or later, so I’d like to honor the Canadian on his birthday with some amazing memes from the Feminist Ryan Gosling Tumblr page, which inspired a book because he’s just that incredible. Happy 32nd birthday, Gosling, and by all means, marry me.

Remember the days when finding someone attractive didn’t involve creating memes about it on the Internet? Things are much more complicated now, as MSNBC host Rachel Maddow knows all too well. The TV anchor recently devoted an entire segment of her show to explaining the evolution of the “Hey Girl, It’s Paul Ryan” movement, which has since inspired the manifestation of “Paul Ryan Gosling.”

With many people snagging book deals these days, it was only a matter of time before viral Tumblr, “Feminist Ryan Gosling” upgraded to print form. Now that the meme site will have its own book, bound by more than 100 photos of the well-loved “Notebook” actor’s face alongside “funny feminist text,” it’s probably time to put away your copy of “Fifty Shades of Grey” in favor of something different.

Hey, Girl. Are you sick of Feminist Ryan Gosling? Of course you’re not; that was a stupid question.
But if you’re looking to up your ironic feminist mememileu, why not meet “Feminist Cthulhu.”
