Today is Lena Dunham’s 27th birthday, so I thought I would take this opportunity to get something off my chest.

Girls aired its season two finale on Sunday, and it was a rather ambiguous conclusion to the episodes we’ve seen this winter. We had a lot of feelings.

Lena Dunham has created a very ambitious second season for her show this year, zooming in on unexpected characters and setting whole episodes in unfamiliar locations, trusting her audience to follow along. I’m not sure who will like this episode and who won’t, but for my part it felt like a bit of a stretch. Dunham has been writing for all sorts of characters this season — the mysterious doctor, Ray and Adam on their mission to Staten Island, and now Jessa’s father and girlfriend — and though I can understand why she wants to experiment with different voices, I wonder if she’s as adept at capturing the essence of a deadbeat middle-aged British estranged father as she is, say, a spoiled Midwestern Oberlin grad.

In today’s EOD roundup, USA Today gives it up for the female auto engineers. While only 5 percent of the Society of Automotive Engineers’ members are women, female engineers are making their mark in the auto industry, especially in the realm of safety features. Making products that save lives and breaking down gender biases — all in a day’s work for the female engineer.

In today’s EOD roundup, this is the winter of our discontent Beyoncé: the woman stole the show at the Inauguration and the Super Bowl, and she’s set to take TV by storm again with her upcoming HBO documentary. In order to promote said film, Life is But a Dream, Beyoncé sat down to a revealing interview with Vogue. Because we shouldn’t have to wait for the new gospel, the LA Times has ten choice quotes from the Queen herself and they are priceless.

I have so many feeeeelings about this week’s episode. I hated it, and then I loved it, and then I hated it again and then I loved it again? Let’s try to work through this together.

It looks like the Girls reality show that every female New Yorker of a certain age saw on Craigslist and briefly thought of auditioning for is actually being produced.

Good news for all you Dunhamaniacs out there: word on the street is Dunham and her Girls co-executive producer Jenni Konner are developing a new series for HBO.  I know, “yay!”; now please stop shouting at the table next to mine about how you wish you were a Jessa but you probably contain more Marnie than you’d like to admit.  We both know you’re a Shoshanna.
