Here’s Hoping Jane Austen’s $40K Turquoise Ring Has Magical Powers

We all know British novelist Jane Austen led a quieter life than many of the characters in her books, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t have nice things. Austen’s turquoise ring, which is said to have been a gift from close man friend and possible lover Tom Lefroy, is now up for auction at the guide price of £20,000 to £30,000 ($40,000 in US dollars). Not bad given it was worn on the fingers that put together Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, and more classics!
