The Oscars are tonight, aka the Super Bowl for Women. And if the Super Bowl can have 40 pre-parties then so can the Oscars. One of those is the Women in Film soiree, hosted by Women in Film, a non-profit organization dedicated to women’s achievement in the entertainment industry. Of course, the event was glamourous and replete with swag and beautiful starlets like Jessica Chastain, but it also drew attention to an important issue: women in the film industry need to promote, encourage and actually hire each other.

Jessica Chastain is getting showered with praise for her role in drama ”Zero Dark Thirty,” leading many to believe she could win Best Actress this awards season. But as faithful fans of the California native know, this isn’t the first time she’s received recognition for her onscreen work. The redhead was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal as the sweet but clueless Celia Foote in 2012 flick, “The Help.” There’s a lot more to come from this budding celebrity, and as a natural ginger, I love seeing famous redheads create a positive reputation for themselves in the media.
