I’ll give you a hint: it’s not Election Day.

President Barack Obama indicated last fall that he wasn’t keen on daughters Malia and Sasha tuning in for the Kardashians, but mom Michelle is way cooler than that and “[doesn't] trip” over the young ladies staying updated on the lives of the Los Angeles family members.

You know what’s even cooler than having a Fourth of July birthday? Being the first daughter and having a Fourth of July birthday. Such is the case for Malia Obama, the eldest child of our president. She turns fourteen on Wednesday and surely has something fun planned. A little One Direction again, maybe? Nah, methinks she has moved on to greater pastures…The soon-to-be high schooler is living the dream I would have killed for at that stage of life. Here are a couple reasons why she’s way cooler than you were at her age.

As a child, I used to wail while getting ready for school, not just because it was painful when my dad brushed my hair upside down, but because his styling abilities were off. I think Malia Obama knows what I’m talking about, as her own father botched her bun before dance class a few years back.
