Good ol’ T-Swift ruffled some feathers recently when she refused to identify herself as a feminist. She told The Daily Beast, “I don’t really think about things as guys versus girls. I never have. I was raised by parents who brought me up to think if you work as hard as guys, you can go far in life.” That didn’t sit well with writers for women’s sites, but Swift is far from the first accomplished female to steer clear of the term “feminism.” Here are some other established female public figures who would rather not be labeled as feminists.

Not all accomplished females want to associate with the word “feminist.” New Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer recently called it a “more negative” term and Oscar recipient Melissa Leo feels the same way.
