The 2012 Olympics have officially ended. I know this solely because my social media networks are no longer clogged up with people complaining about spoilers popping up on their newsfeed. Oh, irony. So all you Olympic fanatics will just have to wait for the winter games to start this cycle all over again.

“Women have come a long way.” How’s that for the understatement of the century? Less than 100 years ago we couldn’t even vote in the U.S., and don’t get me started on jobs and education. The good news is powerful ladies have made great strides and continue to make epic progress. Today, the fist lady reminded everyone to exercise their right to vote. You see these powerful ladies I’m talking about?

We finally have it ladies – proof that girls can do anything boys can, and better. Well, almost anything. But with the U.S. sending more women than men to the Olympics for the first time ever, nothing else really seems to matter. A wise woman once said, “anything you can do, I can do better. I can do anything better than you.” And she was clearly correct!

Full disclosure: I am not well-versed in the Miley Cyrus milieu. And yet, watching the women’s U.S. Olympic soccer squad lip-sync “Party In The USA” inexplicably makes me wish I were best friends with them.
