EOD Roundup: Why Are Greeting Cards So Expensive?

In today’s EOD roundup, we’d hate to sound like Andy Rooney, but why does a card emblazoned with a picture of Snoopy and the words “happiness is a hug from the heart” cost $5? No song, no pop-up, no ghost of Charles Schultz flying out to reward you with Peanuts anecdotes and it still costs more than your typical 40 oz? That’s unacceptable. Well, according to The Atlantic the answer is economics.
