Remember the days when finding someone attractive didn’t involve creating memes about it on the Internet? Things are much more complicated now, as MSNBC host Rachel Maddow knows all too well. The TV anchor recently devoted an entire segment of her show to explaining the evolution of the “Hey Girl, It’s Paul Ryan” movement, which has since inspired the manifestation of “Paul Ryan Gosling.”

It’s almost that time again — election time. And that can only mean one thing: Presidential debates are coming our way. And here’s why you should be concerned: There’s only ever been one female presidential debate moderator. Twenty years ago, in 1992, Carole Simpson from ABC news moderated the George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton debate. And since then there has been no female presence on the debate panel.

For many, college is the perfect time to have a clean slate and become the person our high schools and hometowns never gave us the chance to be. That’s how television host Rachel Maddow wanted to start her freshman year, when she chose to come out as gay in the Stanford University school newspaper.
