We have something in common with Sarah Palin: after we admitted yesterday that we had been rooting for someone other than President Obama to be TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year”, the former Alaskan governor took to Fox News to bash Obama’s selection herself.

You know what I haven’t played in a little while? “Hot or Not,” and boy, have I missed that high school game. Thankfully “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Bristol Palin started a new round for me when she said her mother Sarah Palin is “way hotter than” actress Julianne Moore, who played the former vice presidential candidate in 2012 film, “Game Change.”

I celebrated Labor Day Weekend in Vegas, so I understand why it may come as a shock to you that my (nerdy) friends and I spent the whole trip coming up with nicknames for “Harry Potter” villain Lord Voldemort (Voldz is golden). He’s a good topic of discussion, but likening anyone to the fictional bad guy is almost as bad as making Hitler comparisons. Nevertheless, DNC executive director Patrick Gaspard drew parallels between former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Harry Potter’s evil rival at a Monday youth event.

In an automatic-publish world, it’s common for online media outlets to post stories rife with typos and errors, and even print publications fall under this terrible trap at times. “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Bristol Palin claims that a new issue of OK! magazine apparently committed such a faux pas, having printed a photo of mother Sarah Palin alongside a baby seemingly misidentified as brother Trig Palin. While adorable, Bristol said, the infant in the photo is not her sibling.

Comedian Russell Brand demonstrated a surprising level of sexism at a Television Critics Association panel over the weekend when he said former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has only risen to the top because “people want to fuck her. That’s why they tolerate the other stuff.”

Great Britain is facing some political trouble — so who does the New Republic magazine exploit to relay this information to the world? Duchess of Cambridge Catherine, who appears to have decaying teeth on the July 12 issue of the publication as a symbol of the dark times Britain is currently experiencing. We’re not sure why the mag chose to publish an insulting doctored photo of the royal to get its point across, but we’re not happy about it. Here are other offensive and sexist magazine covers that have been really demeaning to women in politics.

Running is one of the most effective, yet exhausting, ways to exercise and lose weight. It’s a great workout but incredibly daunting, so it’s a little surprising that lots of major media figures fit intense jogging regimens into their busy schedules. They may have to stay thin for their jobs, but some of them go the extra mile by partaking in marathons or triathlons. Here are a few of these overachieving ladies whose workout stamina we’d love to have.

I’m a strong believer in Karma, and that’s why I have zero sympathy for the raging jerk who has decided to sue “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Bristol Palin for defamation. The man, who rose to fame last year for shouting the 21-year-old down and calling her mother the “devil,” is also pressing charges against network Lifetime for showing footage of his explosive argument with Bristol in her show trailer without his consent.

Creative types find inspiration in odd places. Alan Ball, executive producer of HBO program “True Blood,” recently stated that Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann influenced the new season of the popular show, which quite frankly comes as a major shock since the former presidential candidate doesn’t exactly exude vampire vibes.
