In the latest tragic, yet cinematic twist in the News of the World hacking scandal plaguing Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp empire, the whistle-blowing reporter who claimed his editor, Andy Coulson, knew about the hacking has apparently been found dead. The Guardian claims that Sean Hoare, “who worked on the Sun and the News of the World with Coulson before being dismissed for drink and drugs problems,” was just discovered at home in Watford.
Mediaite notes that Hoare first told The New York Times about Coulson’s knowledge of the phone-hacking in an investigation last year. Afterwards, he told BBC that Coulson personally asked him to tap phones.
