Lori Greiner is one of the “sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank, a well-established guilty pleasure for The Jane Dough. This morning she appeared on The View to talk about her role on the show and basically explain why she has so much money to burn.

We’re not so secretly fans of the ABC show Shark Tank, on which aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their (often ridiculous businesses) to a team of “sharks,” or basically, deep-pocketed investors like Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban. If the sharks like the product, they’ll offer some funding in return for a certain percentage of equity in the company. The entrepreneurs are free to negotiate and then choose to accept or reject the offers. When it works, it results in some ecstatic entrepreneurs. But that is, if they actually get paid.

Our secret not-so-guilty-pleasure? Watching Shark Tank, the venture capital reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to Mark Cuban and friends, hoping to secure some capital. It’s at times overly dramatic, and probably unrealistic, but it’s also a hoot. And unlike other reality competition shows, the goal isn’t just to see who gets the rose or who gets to be Donald Trump’s assistant. Anyway, some of the best contestants (obviously) are women — and ABC’s got a reel of some of the best female entrepreneurs in the new season.
