It can be one of the most exciting and uncertain times in a person’s life, so “Glee” actress Jane Lynch, who delivered a witty commencement address at Smith College over the weekend, should be at every graduation ceremony to inform students of what they’re really in for. This is the concern of Anne Spurzem, a 1984 graduate who worries that her alma mater, Smith College is going down the toilet because its “days of white, wealthy, upper-class students from prep schools in cashmere coats and pearls who marry Amherst men are over.”
