Data analyst extraordinaire Karl Lagerfeld, who said at a press conference this week that Newsweek is a dying, “sh-tty little paper,” needs to get his facts straight, according to the publication. In response to the German designer’s comments about NewsBeast editor-in-chief Tina Brown being a has-been and the product being awful, Newsweek said in a statement to Fashionista that the magazine has actually increased in popularity since the former Vanity Fair editor hopped on board to steer the ship.

Jane Harman Goes Back To Work Following Sidney Harman’s Death

Former U.S. Representative Jane Harman is heading back to work and into the spotlight for the first time following Sidney Harman death. Ms. Harman will assume her late husband’s seat on the Newsweek Daily Beast company board at tonight’s Deadline Club annual awards dinner at the Waldorf Astoria.

At the dinner, Harman will introduce Tina Brown, the current editor in chief of both Newsweek and the Daily Beast, who is slated to oversee a Q & A session with the event’s attendees.
