Unusual friendships are fairly common in Hollywood and politics. Snooki and Sen. John McCain have bonded over tanning, for instance, and reality television star Kim Kardashian and former presidential candidate Rick Santorum might be the next dynamic duo to join the mix, as the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” icon said at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) that she likes the former Pennsylvania Senator even though she’s a Democrat.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is tonight, and we’re all looking forward to it.

The annual event is a chance for president and press to come together and loosen their ties with the help of some of the funniest comedians around.

With the publication of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner guest list, most people are excited to see which celebrities will be attending as plus-ones for various news outlets and TV personalities (looking at you, Greta van Susteren). Who can blame them — it is fascinating stuff. While it is hilarious the the dog from The Artist will be the guest of the Washington Times, the fact that Kris and Kim Kardashian will attend as guests of Fox News certainly deserves an eye roll or two. More importantly, however there are plenty of notable women who will be attending who are famous for more than just being “actors.” Sorry Uggie.

What better way to spend one’s birthday than at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD)?

That’s where “Fantastic Four” actress Jessica Alba will be when she turns 31 later this month. The celeb mom blogger of two, who appeared at a Capitol Hill press conference last year to advocate for the Safe Chemicals Act, told E! last week that she is going to be at the lavish affair for her 31st.

As much as we’d love to attend the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner, we’re actually pretty relieved we won’t be going, as the awkwardness of the Huffington Post table will probably be felt throughout the entire room.
