So... Yea.
Target Decides “Stalker” Valentine’s Day Cards Weren’t Such A Great Idea After All
2:58 pm, February 10th | by Amy Tennery
A Valentine’s Day card that makes light of stalking… hah?
File this one under the heading of totally misguided jokes? Or, yea, that’s definitely too kind a description of this situation.
The St. Paul Business Journal reported this morning that Target megastore has chosen to remove a line of Valentine’s Day cards that read “Stalker is a harsh word” on the front and “I prefer Valentine” on the inside. Turns out stalking humor isn’t a huge hit among people who’ve actually been stalked before.
Controversy surrounding the cards picked up yesterday, after Forbes reported on stalking victims’ growing protest against the greeting cards.
