The release of Taylor Swift's hit album, "Red" has been just been overshadowed by her unsurprising split with barely legal high school junior Conor Kennedy, and while breakups always make me a little sad, I'm happy about this one because it could be a major career boost for little Swiftie. Here are some reasons why the demise of her short-lived relationship with one of Deerfield Academy's most popular students was actually a smart move for her career.

2.She can use this breakup as material for another song

For most of us, breakups bring about lots of emotional pain. For Swift, they make her millions! I'm excited to see how she works Kennedy into her next album.

3.She can promote her material more now

Without having to fly her boyfriend over, either. No beau means more time to devote to work and "Red," which we already know caused the breakup. As Nigel says in The Devil Wears Prada, "Let me know when your whole life goes up in flames. That means it's time for a promotion."

4.She can actually relax during downtime

Rather than use her rare breaks to hang with her man, she can recharge and recover alone, leaving her well-rested and refreshed before starting work again.

5.Others can mention the breakup during her 'Red' promos

You know what that means: we can see her cringe more often!

6.She can date older guys now

Well, maybe not that older guy, but some other dude would work. Let's be real here: an older fellow would be more understanding of her busy schedule than a high school kid who just turned 18.
