We Can All Go Home Now That We Know Who Taylor Swift’s New Song Is About

Ever since the release of pop sensation Taylor Swift’s uncharacteristically aggressive tune, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the world has been making educated guesses on the inspiration of the song. The mystery is apparently over though, as a source says it’s about the Pennsylvania musician’s ex-flame, Jake Gyllenhaal.
“It’s definitely about Jake,” an insider told Us Weekly of the iTunes hit, which has lyrics such as, “you will hide away and find your piece of mind with some indie record that’s much cooler than mine.” Yup, sounds like something too-cool-for-school LA guy Gyllenhaal would do. Another clue, as pointed out by NDYN, is the music video, which shows a young man passing a scarf onto Swift that’s similar to the scarf the young lady wore alongside Gyllenhaal two years ago.
Swift said last month that the new hit is about her “ex-boyfriend,” and now that we have a pretty solid answer on which former beau she was talking about, we can all head home and begin wondering who her next few songs will be about. My advice to Taylor? Write another one blasting John Mayer. He deserves it even though he would argue otherwise.
