‘The Girl’ A Creepy Depiction Of How Hitchcock Tortured Actress For Not Sleeping With Him

Last month, “The Birds” star Tippi Hedren came forward about the psychological torture director Alfred Hitchcock put her through for refusing to sleep with him during the filming of the thriller, and the manipulation shows in the trailer for new HBO movie, “The Girl,” an onscreen adaptation of Hedren’s awful experiences.

Hedren, who is portrayed by Sienna Miller, said the obsessive, creepy Hitchcock tried to destroy her career and make her uncomfortable at work after she denied his advances. He probably couldn’t get away with that now, but things were different in the 60s, when he created “The Birds.” “The Girl,” which is Hedren’s tell-all on working with the famous horror director, includes scenes of the British man placing the vulnerable woman in dangerous situations seemingly as punishment for rejecting him. It’s quite creepy, so if you thought Hitchcock’s movies were terrifying, you’re in for some sleepless nights after watching this one.

God, Sienna Miller is awful. And, what is that weird accent she’s doing. I can’t tell if it’s just an awful American accent or something else. And, if so, why? Tippy Hedron doesn’t talk like that.

As a long time fan of Alfred Hitchcock movies, the premise
of this story was shocking to me. I never knew the trials that Tippi went
through working for Hitchcock, that being said the acting in this movie looks
terrific. A co-worker at Dish thinks that this will be sure to garner awards
when the time comes; judging from the trailer it seems likely. I am so glad
with my busy schedule this October, that my Hopper has 2,000 hours of recording
space. I would not want to miss this fascinating and terrifying story for
anything. But in a movie based on the master of thrillers, I would expect
nothing less from his real life.

    I’m not hearing it.

What does his nationality have to do with anything, exactly? It’s an odd thing to pick out. Are people going to think of him differently with the revelation that he’s British? Oh dear, I might be thinking about this too much.
