The SNL Cast Bids Adieu to Seth Meyers

The Saturday Night Live cast members joined together to film a cinematic swan song for longtime performer and head writer Seth Meyers and the reactions were varying: some shared sweet stories (Vanessa Bayer) (would you except anything else from Vanessa Bayer?), some cried (Kenan Thompson), some used the opportunity to unearth passive-aggressive sentiments about their old boss (Pete Shultz), and some just didn’t even know that Meyers was leaving. (We’re looking at you, Kyle Mooney.) Even Sasheer Zamata, whose SNL tenure only overlapped with Meyers for two episodes, had nothing but kind words and gratitude for the departing Weekend Update anchor. Overall, the sincerity and love was at an all-time high in Studio 8H and thanks to some ingenious cameramen, we get to share in all the emotions:
While this is totally beautiful and Seth Meyers’ moment and blah, blah, blah, I can’t help but wonder why my old office didn’t make anything as sweet for me on my last day. All they gave me were a cardboard box and some severance forms to fill out. Well, I guess if I am ever feeling nostalgic, I could always reread old emails from former coworkers berating me for doing my job wrong. Oh, the memories!
Late Night with Seth Meyers premieres February 24th on NBC.
