Gross: Trump Casino Offers $25K Prize Of “Free Plastic Surgery”

Today, we’ve got another weird Donald Trump-related deal for you. This one is decidedly stranger. Trump’s Atlantic City casino is giving away $25,000 of free plastic surgery. Yuck.

The Trump Taj Mahal is giving away $25,000 worth of plastic surgery as part of a casino contest. The winner can devise a whole menu of procedures, from boob job to tummy tuck — up to $25,000 worth. We’re disturbed by this.

But we’re even more disturbed by what Trump spokesperson had to say about it. Kathleen McSweeney, senior vice president of marketing for Trump Entertainment Resorts, told ABC, ”We wanted to change the face of a typical casino promotion, and with this one we are literally doing it.” Great job there — you’re really promoting a wholesome image of a company we should trust.

Yes, we know, it’s a Trump Casino, not exactly a vice-free operation, but still — this takes it too far. If you want to use your blackjack earnings to pay for a round of liposuction — go for it. That’s a personal choice. But to give away plastic surgery as a prize is to glorify procedures that are risky and painful. And by giving it away as a prize, it seems more likely that “winners” wouldn’t evaluate the risks, or might undergo procedures they don’t need. The Trump brand shouldn’t be proud of this one.

Fortunately, the winner can accept $25,000 in cash and use it as they please.
