Ursula Burns: “This Is A Different Time” For Women

Leave it to Ursula Burns, chairman and CEO of Xerox and the first black female CEO of a Fortune 500 company and the first female CEO to succeed a female CEO at a Fortune 500 company, to tell us a little about female trailblazing. “This is a different time. We got here by doing great work while not backing off the things that are important,” she said.
Burns shared these bon mots with the crew at Forbes Woman, speaking in particular about how tech has become an important area for female growth and empowerment. While others have argued that tech is excluding women, Burns says that the sector is a great place for the ladies, given how quickly and frequently tech companies transform and evolve.
