Virginia Ultrasound Law Finally Has What It Needed: A Catchy Song
2:30 pm, February 23rd | by Hillary Reinsberg
The debate surrounding a proposed bill that would force Virginians to have an ultrasound before having an abortion has had its fair share of critics (and rightfully so, we think). Isn’t it time for a song?
So here, behold “The Ballad Of The Virginia Mandatory Transvaginal Ultrasound,” a catchy tune written by Jonathan Mann. So catchy that we found ourselves tapping our feet as Mann sings about the image of opening up your vagina so Virginia “can have a look around.”
Mann adds at the end that he’s pleased that the bill was amended to exclude the transvaginal bit, but thinks the law is “still crappy, so the song still stands.”
“Damn you Virginia,” he adds.
