Cheap Deals Gone Ugly — Walmart Shopper Films Pepper Spray Attack [VIDEO]

Retailers love Black Friday. People will literally camp out on the street to get your deals. Lots of them will, in fact. You can’t buy that kind of publicity. But the brief financial boost to a CEO’s bottom line can easily be undermined by some bad press. Like, you know, when someone starts pepper spraying her fellow customers.

And, shockingly, that’s exactly what happened late last night at Walmart. In an incident that CBS dubbed as “competitive shopping” (understatement of the century), a woman at a California Walmart pepper sprayed several of her fellow shoppers. And like so many horrifying retail incidents, there was someone on hand to capture it on camera and post it to YouTube.

In the video description, this person says that she was on hand during the melee — but her account of the incident differs somewhat from others’:

What you’re seeing is a clip taken of a group of shoppers ripping and tearing at each other and a kiosk to get their hands on discounted Xbox 360 games. During the mayhem, one woman thought she was going to be robbed, so she pulled out her pepper spray and blasted the crowd. From my understanding another girl was shot directly in the face with the spray.

Yikes. Needless to say, the video is pretty shocking.

Maybe those Occupy protesters were onto something.
