Wanda Sykes and Wayne Brady Can’t Handle Their Kid

OWN is home to more than just Tyler Perry’s dream journals and Oprah’s latest emotionally-affecting interview with a disgraced celebrity: it is also the purveyor of Wanda Sykes’ new show Herlarious. While it is pretty much noted in textbooks that Sykes is one of the most talented and successful female stand-up comedians working, her sketch comedy prowess deserves recognition as well. Herlarious showcases it all: take for instance Sykes’ parody of family reality shows featuring none other than America’s favorite musical improviser (sorry, Duke Ellington), Wayne Brady.
I’m glad someone is finally addressing the terror of having a single child. TLC is putting entirely too much effort into scaring me with shows like Kate Plus 8 and 19 Kids And Counting; literally all they need to air is a show called You Are Having a Baby. Hell, even You’re Late would work.
Herlarious, which premiered on OWN back in July, will air on January 4th and 11th at 10pm/9c. It’s definitely worth a watch if only to see Sykes walking on a treadmill in a blazer. I mean, isn’t that everyone’s idea of heaven?
