Washington Post Asks Absurd Question: “Can Women Be Fashionable Dressers And Lawyers?”

The question seems too ridiculous to even be true. The Twitter population agrees!
A few days ago, The Washington Post published a story with the title: “Jurist Prudence: Can Women Be Fashionable Dressers And Lawyers?” — which, naturally, they tweeted out. The article itself, if you took the time to click on and read it, wasn’t anything so offending. It’s a memoir-ish tale of strict dress codes in the legal profession and a woman’s disappointment at feeling she couldn’t wear the bold and fashion-forward clothing she liked.
But that headline…
Predictably (and fairly), the headline (and the tweet that spread it) is what most people paid attention to. And this one, frankly, sounds decades and decades out of tune. Naturally, people reacted accordingly. Some of our favorite commentary from the Twittersphere:
