Watch “Seeing Him For The First Time Again”, the Gender-Swapped Parody of “Coma Guy”

Undoubtedly you have watched “Seeing Her For The First Time Again “, that YouTube video of a guy waking up from surgery and realizing that his wife is a babe. Your cousin, the one whose default photo is her three terriers and who had a Moulin Rouge-themed 25th birthday party, probably shared it on Facebook and even though you rolled your eyes at her caption (“‘Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.’ Song of Solomon 8:7″), you played the video. And, despite all attempts not to, you probably smiled. You probably even emailed (you couldn’t publicly share it) the video to your one other single friend with a manic accompanying message like “GREAT. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE MY HERNIA SURGERY? WHO IS GOING TO BE AT MY BEDSIDE? NOT SOME DREAMY DREAMBOAT WHO WILL KEEP FEEDING ME CRACKERS AND TURN ME INTO A YOUTUBE SENSATION, THAT’S FOR DAMNED SURE. I DON’T HAVE A LOVE THAT IS SO VIBRANT AND HEARTWARMING THAT PEOPLE THINK IT IS A JIMMY KIMMEL PRANK. MY COUSIN WOULD NEVER SHARE ANY OF MY RELATIONSHIPS ON FACEBOOK OR CAPTIONING THEM WITH A BIBLE QUOTE, UNLESS SAID QUOTE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT THE GROTESQUE AND PATHETIC MACHINATIONS OF WOMANKIND AND THE CURSE OF EVE, MAKING ME FALL FOR SLIPPERY SNAKES WHO NEVER TEXT ME BACK, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I’M FREAKING OUT.” You probably were freaking out. Probably.
But what if you woke up from sugary/a coma/a night’s rest and realized that your significant other wasn’t all that you had dreamed? What if you found out that the amorphous lump feeding you dry saltines and hiding behind an iPhone, the one who you thought was just an escaped patient from the geriatric wing, was your “death do us” part-ner for multiple years? Slacktory’s new video focuses on a woman who is none too happy to remember who her husband is.
