What Took So Long? ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Finally Causes A Divorce

First it saved marriages, then it sparked pregnancies, and now it’s ending relationships. E.L. James’s explosively popular “Fifty Shades” series has just influenced the demise of one marriage, as a 41-year-old wealthy banker is divorcing her husband for refusing to take a Christian Grey approach to their sex life.
The well-off woman, who tried to save her union by asking her spouse to do some of the sexually adventurous, freaky things in the “Fifty Shades” books, was frustrated and taken aback when he accused her of “unreasonable behavior.” The woman’s lawyer told the New York Daily News that this is the first instance she’s seen someone cite the novel in a divorce petition:
“She thought their sex life had hit a rut — he never remembered Valentine’s Day and he never complimented her on her appearance.”
The woman reportedly purchased “sexy underwear” in an attempt to revitalize her marriage, but her man failed to say a word about the new purchase. Way to go, jerk.
“It’s all because you have been reading that bloody book,”he reportedly said, prompting her to file for divorce.
Moral of the story: Going “Fifty Shades” on somebody isn’t going to fix broken relationships, but I could have told you that…
