Wodka Ad Offends Again With “Escort Quality, Hooker Pricing” Campaign


Determined-to-offend-you vodka label Wodka is back at it: with an bound to make someone angry smack in the middle of Manhattan. This time, the ad reads: “Escort Quality, Hooker Pricing.” Classy, eh?

Jezebel has a photo of the new billboard, which is lingering over what appears to be 7th Avenue in Manhattan:

The photo might offend, but it hardly shocks. Wodka seems hell-bent on making you offended, or at least uncomfortable with their ads. Around Thanksgiving last year, heads turned and television anchors gawked when Wodka released an ad that touted “Christmas Quality, Hannukah Pricing.”

Wodka’s clearly pretty set on this “X Quality, Y Pricing” formula, despite the fact that it makes steam burst out of the public’s ears, cartoon-style. After all, that’s probably the point: get lots of attention with a stupid, cheap ad campaign. It’s either that, or the guy behind the campaign is actually as insensitive as the ads would indicate — he said he was truly surprised that Jews were offended by the November ad.

    It’s all a marketing tool.  Shock and awe, produce the most offensive ad and you’ll get people talking.
