Seriously? Woman Mows Down Pedestrian With Car, Blames “Hormones” [VIDEO]
7:15 pm, June 6th | by Amy Tennery
Here are a few side effects of hormone swings: Mood changes, weight, appetite, libido (thanks, WebMD!). Here’s what’s rarely a side effect of hormone swings: Vehicular assault.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped one woman in Scotland from claiming that her raging hormones caused her to plow down a pedestrian, according to the Daily Mail. Words fail me.
Suzanne Gilchrist allegedly ran into a pedestrian at a shopping center while apparently trying to evade a security guard after stealing a bottle of aftershave (it’s the layers of the story that really make it). The pedestrian apparently leapt onto the hood of the car — because that’s better than being mowed over, I guess — and latched on for a good quarter mile, while White reportedly drove “at speed.”
GIlchrist, for her part, has entered a guilty plea (not including aftershave purloining) and has offered her “unreserved apology” to the guy she ran over. Which, yea, ya think? And she apparently “thought that she was pregnant and was obviously suffering from some sort of hormonal imbalance.” I’m no doctor but yes, pregnancy causes hormone changes — thoughts of pregnancy do not. This particular defense strategy: Color me skeptical.
