This Stinks: Female CEO Claims 50% Of Women Are Ashamed Of Their Feet
4:30 pm, December 21st | by Hillary Reinsberg
Yellow toenails, cracked heels…and telling you to be ashamed of them. A compelling business plan.
According to a press release from a company called Xenna, more than half of women are embarrassed by their feet. Guess what Xenna does? It sells products to make your feet less, ahem, shameful.
“I was shocked to hear that so many women feel embarrassed by their feet,” says Xenna CEO Carol Buck. And so are we!
Personally, I find it hard to imagine that half of women find their feet so darn embarrassing. And even if they do, I’d bet most of them find other things more embarrassing — you know, more compelling issues.
So yes, I’m a little turned off by being told that, according to statistics, half the women I know have feet so gnarly they need to buy products to fix them. I know it’s all in the marketing, but it’s never nice to see a female CEO push products in a “fix your gross and embarrassing problems” manner. Even if it’s just about your stinky feet.
