“#WomensRights” Video Gives “Blurred Lines” a Pro-Choice Spin

Are you guys sick of Robin Thicke’s seemingly omnipresent single “Blurred Lines” yet? We totally are; but let’s just suck it up and listen to the song just one more time — for women’s rights. Well, actually, #WomensRights.
Full Frontal Freedom, a group of independent artists and media executives who describe themselves as “the anti-PAC”, released this parody of Thicke’s hit song as a salute to Sen. Wendy Davis’ filibuster and the pro-choice movement in Texas. While the group may be showing up to the SB2 debate a little late — Gov. Rick Perry did just sign the anti-abortion measure into law today — one should always make time for a celebratory, pro-women message since, you know, they’re so rare in this world. Texas, you definitely should give this song a listen, considering that you are currently trying to pass an even more restrictive abortion law. Check out the video below:
We love that Full Front Freedom riffed on the blatant objectification in Thicke’s video by featuring topless men and suited up women. We also really like the killer dance moves. And the husky. And let’s not forget about the awesome lyrics:
Well she was getting close, called out on 3 infractions
The leaders faked the vote, got busted in the action
You’d like the chamber vacant
Let her speak!
When your cheatings blatant
Let her speak!
Can’t trust these men to make it
and you can’t…
…can’t silence us with women’s rights.
won’t sit and take it
won’t tolerate it
Can’t legislate it
These bills are dangerous
You say they save us
Your deceit amazes
instead they claim us
Cause these are women’s rights
